Name :Xiaoying Liu

Born in Shandong in 1964,  Doctoral degree, Master's and associate Doctoral Supervisor, and Professor-Senior Engineer of the China Institute of Water Resources and Hydropower Research(IWHR) and International Research and Training Centre on Erosion and Sedimentation(IRTCES) , Division Chief of the IRTCES and also the Secretary General(2019-2024), Treasurer(2010-till now) and Executive Council Member(2009 till 2022) of the World Association of Soil and Water Conservation(WASWAC), Deputy Secretary General of the Ecological Restoration Committee of the Chinese Society for Soil and Water Conservation, and Editorial Board Member of the International Journals of Erosion and Sedimentation Research and  International Soil and Water Conservation Research and other Journals .

Engaged in long-term research and international cooperation and exchange on water and soil conservation, ecological environment, river sedimentation, etc., he has led and undertaken more than 50 international and national research projects funded by the FAO, UNDP,UNESCO, World Bank, Asian Development Bank and Chinese Government. He has Successfully organized over 40 International Conferences, symposium, workshops, international training courses and conducted consultation projects as international consultants and UN trainer.

He was awarded as the Outstanding Young Scientist Award of the 3rd China Society for Soil and Water Conservation, the Outstanding Contribution Award for Erosion and Sedimentation Research by the Three Gorges Office of the State Council, and the Excellent Award of the China National Committee for the UNDP-farmer centred Watershed Management Project. He has written 10 both Chinese and English monographs, over 90 technical reports, over 80 research papers.
