Anna Prati is a researcher at the Faculty of Engineering at the Free University of Bozen in the Northern Italy. She is an expert in physical modelling of wet and dry granular flows, design of down-scaled lab models and experimental tests on laboratory setup for both environmental and energetic purposes. Her main interests cover physical modelling of the sediment transport in a reservoir, sediment flushing efficiency, wood transport inside rivers, debris flows and fluidized beds gasifiers. Her research focuses on particles hydrodynamics with evaluation of solid and liquid phases’ velocity and density profiles using Particle Tracking Velocimetry (PTV) methods, high-speed cameras, Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) methods and Refractive Index Matching (RIM) technique. She also investigates the rheology of several types of granular flows like bed-load and suspended load in mountain streams, or like segregation analysis inside fluidized bed reactors. Recently she started analysing the topic of flood-risk management as a consequence of extreme events.
