Wen WANG is a  researcher specializing in hydraulics and river dynamics, with a deep focus on sediment transport and ecological hydrology within watershed systems. He has successfully led over ten significant research projects, including initiatives like the National Natural Science Foundation’s Youth Fund Project, two sub-projects under the National Key Research and Development Program, the Shaanxi Provincial Natural Science Basic Research Program for Young Talents, the Science and Technology Plan Project of the Shaanxi Provincial Department of Water Resources, the Open Fund of the National Key Laboratory, and the Natural Science Special Project of the Shaanxi Provincial Department of Education.

His leadership extends to overseeing a comprehensive ecological impact assessment project that integrates wind, light, and water in the upper Yellow River, a major dredging project for a narrow and deep reservoir, and two ecological restoration projects on the Loess Plateau of Shaanxi, focusing on the synergistic restoration of mountains, rivers, forests, farmlands, lakes, and grasslands.

Wen has also played a crucial role in contributing to strategic planning documents, such as the Shaanxi Provincial Development and Reform Commission’s "Overall Ideas for Ecological Protection and High-Quality Development of the Yellow River Basin in Shaanxi Province." He has participated in the preparation of feasibility studies for World Bank loan projects aimed at ecological restoration in the Shaanxi Loess Plateau and assisted in drafting the National Energy Administration’s regulations on "Technical specification of hydraulic numerical simulition for water release structures of hydropower projects", as well as local technical standards for delineating management and protection scopes in river, lake, and water conservancy projects in Shaanxi Province.
